Amazing Advocates!
Katie and Hannah-Ruth are Girlguiding UK Advocates, and their aim is to seek change to improve all girls’ lives. The advocate panel gives girls a platform to use their voices and seek change at the highest levels. We caught up with Katie and Hannah-Ruth to hear a little bit about their passions, their experiences as an advocate, and using their voice!

ADVENTURE - we help all girls know they can do anything!
Adventure is a huge part of who we are at Girlguiding Ulster. It's all about facing challenge and risk, it builds confidence and creates a sense of achievement. We are delighted that at our Volunteer Celebration lunch this month, we will be joined by one of Northern Ireland's finest adventurers, Hannah Shields. Meet the Chief! August 2024
Ever wondered what on earth the Chief Commissioner does all day?! Our most volunteer role in Girlguiding Ulster is a 5 year term, and most definitely isn’t all tea parties and award presentations! Debbie McDowell, a guide leader from Belfast took up the role in March 2021. We caught up with her recently to chat all things ‘Chiefing’!
