Cityscapes Belfast - Your unit's next big ADVENTURE!
Get ready to explore Belfast like never before!
This March, Girlguiding Ulster is hosting Cityscapes Adventure, along with Brighton, Nottingham, Norwich and Carlisle! Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers will take to the streets of Belfast, completing fun challenges, finding hidden gems, snapping photos, solving clues and earning points as they go. It's an opportunity to get out and about, explore the city and have a brilliant day together. Points are awarded as you complete your challenges, and the team with the most points at the end, wins!
Belfast is the perfect city for an adventure
If the thought of taking your unit into the city sounds a little daunting, don't worry! One of the best things about Belfast is that it's a really manageable city to explore on foot. The city centre is compact, with lots to see and do within a relatively small area. That means. you don't need to spend the day navigating long distances or traveling from one side of the city to the other.
For younger girls, you can keep things close and choose shorter challenges. Older girls can take on more adventurous missions and explore further. You set the pace and choose the challenges that work for your unit. Whether you have a group of energetic Rainbows, adventurous Brownies, determined Guides or independent Rangers, there will be challenges to suit them.
Why bring your unit?
Citycscapes Adventure is more than just a scavenger hunt. It's a chance for girls to:
- Explore Belfast and discover places they might never have visited before
- Work as a team and make decisions together
- Get active while exploring the city
- Build confidence navigating a new environment
- Be creative through photo, video and challenge activities
- Have fun together!
How does Goosechase work?
The event will be run through Goosechase, an easy-to-use scavenger hunt app. Challenges will appear on the app and teams can choose which ones they want to tackle.
You'll be able to see what challenges are available, head off to complete them and submit your evidence through the app. This could be a photo, a video, answer or another type of challenge.
Don't worry if you've never used Goosechase before. More information and guidance will be provided before the event so leaders know exactly what to do.
So, why not make a day of it?
Cityscapes Belfast is an opportunity to get girls out of their usual surroundings, explore somewhere new and experience the city together!
Whether this is your unit's first adventure in Belfast or you're already regular city explorers, we'd love to see you there.
