How can I help? A gift of a lifetime Consider what you could and would like to leave to Girlguiding Ulster, there are no specific sums and all amounts or items make a difference to the members of Girlguiding Ulster. A legacy from you will help to bring guiding to many more girls and to provide access to new and challenging opportunities.
What could my gift be used for?
Girlguiding Ulster’s trustees will use your legacy to support and continue to work with our members in N. Ireland. A legacy from you will help to bring Guiding to many more girls and to provide access to new and challenging opportunities, from supporting local guiding to international opportunities, the trustees will carefully consider the needs of the organisation. If you have already made your will
If you already have a will all that is required is a simple addition to your will called a codicil. By adding this supplement to your will you can include new instructions and delete old ones without having to revoke the whole will.
If you do not have a will at the moment please consult a solicitor for sound professional advice to ensure your wishes are achieved.
If you decide to add or include a legacy in your will there are different types and suggested wording that solicitors can advise.
Residuary bequest – a proportion of your estate of what is left once you have provided for your loved ones
Pecuniary bequest – a gift of a fixed amount of money
Specific legacy bequest – a named item that could be sold or used by the organisation.
Donations
We can accept donations by cheque, debit/credit card or by regular standing order. If you can make a donation please consider using the Gift Aid scheme allowing us to claim the tax back on any donation.
In Memoriam donations
Making a donation in memory of a loved one for whom Guiding played an important role in their life could provide a lasting tribute. Donations can be used for specific items with advice from the trustees e.g. for international travel or purchasing camping equipment.
